Printed Circuit Board Design Training
Course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of printed circuit board (PCB) design to both freshers and working professionals. The course will cover the basics of PCB design, including schematic capture, PCB layout design, and design verification. The course will also cover advanced topics such as high-speed design and Signal/Power & Thermal integrity, as well as design for manufacturability.
Module 1: Introduction to PCB Design
• Introduction to PCB, about PCB design, History of printed Circuit Board, basic electronic.
• Overview of PCB design process.
• Introduction to industry-standard PCB design tools.
• Schematic capture and PCB layout design basics.
• About libraries and parts, schematic drawing from circuit, creating a net list and exporting and importing schematic data.
Module 2: PCB Design Guidelines and Best Practices
• PCB design guidelines and best practices.
• Component selection and placement.
• Starting a project, working of design tools, placing, editing, and connecting parts and electrical symbols.
• PCB layout optimization techniques.
• PCB Workflow, footprint generation for SMD and Through hole components, Importing, components placing, via fanout, understanding of routing layers, routing guidelines, routing to single multi layer, Copper Pour, DRC Checking, adding reference texts and Gerber file generation.
Module 3: High-Speed PCB Design and Signal/Power Integrity
• Understanding high-speed PCB design requirements
• Signal/Power integrity analysis and optimization
• PCB stack-up design and impedance control
Module 4: Design for Manufacturability
• Design for manufacturability concepts
• PCB design considerations for assembly and fabrication
• Testing and quality control techniques
Module 5: Advanced Topics in PCB Design
• Multi-layer PCB design and stack-up optimization
• RF PCB design considerations
• Power delivery network design and optimization
Delivery Method: The course will be delivered through a combination of lectures, practical exercises, and hands-on projects. Students will be provided with relevant study materials and will be expected to complete assignments and projects as part of their training. The course can be conducted in-person or online, depending on the convenience of the students.
Duration: The course will have a total duration of 40 hours, which can be spread over a period of 4 weeks. The class will be held for 3 hours per day, 5 days a week.
Prerequisites:
• A basic understanding of electronics and digital circuit design concepts.
• Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB design software tools is preferred, but not mandatory
Certification: Upon successful completion of the course and passing the exam, students will receive a certificate of completion.
